Please read the important changes to the school lunch program at Antrim School.
As you might be aware there is a time constraint for lunch in the cafeteria. We significantly reduced the time at the cashier by using a Point of Sale (POS). We encourage you to consult with your children on making proper food choices so we can serve the lunch faster.
We are using an online payment system with our POS System. You can still send checks in as always but if you register online at www.myschoolaccount.com you can see what charges were made on your child’s account and when. You may also put money on the account online however there are transaction fees for credit cards or bank ACH transfers.
Every online transaction is $2 however credit cards incur an additional percentage charge for credit card fees. There is no additional percentage charged for bank transfers. Myschoolaccount.com does not retain your credit card information, but you can keep your bank information in the system for convenience. Online payments are not reflected the same day, there is a one-day lag.
You need to register your account by making up a user id and password. Then you pick your school and enter your child's student id so they can be assigned to your account. Multiple students can be added to your account.
We recommend setting up low balance notifications on your account.
Students who buy lunch regularly will have their cards laid out by grade and the lunch aids help with finding the card.
Antrim School is an “offer vs serve” lunch which allows students to decline 2 of the 5 meal components offered at lunch. But if they do not have a fruit or vegetable as one of the 3 selections the meal does not qualify as state and federal reimbursable and needs to be charged separately. We will automatically put a fruit on the tray sometimes to ensure compliance when the student passes the cashier. If they do not want to eat the fruit they can drop the fruit on the return table. We recycle and rewash the fruit for reuse in the nurse’s office and after care.
If a “free” or “reduced” student refuses to allow the fruit or vegetable on their tray the meal will be charged to their account, so please discuss this with your children.
